Kawasaki Ninja H2R Review

19 Dec, 2022 02:37 PM

Detailed Review by Maxabout Team

Overview

The Japanese automaker has released the latest 2023 variant of the H2. It is the fastest and craziest production motorcycle at the moment in the world. Of course, we're referring to the legendary Kawasaki Ninja H2R. The Kawasaki Ninja H2R is a racetrack-only variant of the Ninja H2. And, because it is a racetrack-only model, it costs significantly more than the base H2.

Kawasaki Ninja H2R Design and Style

The Kawasaki Ninja H2, the Japanese brand's flagship motorcycle, is legendary in its own right. It serves as the design inspiration for Kawasaki's entire fully-faired line-up. The styling of the latest 2023 Kawasaki Ninja H2R remains unchanged. Aerodynamic winglets are added to either side of the fairing. It has extra winglets where the mirrors would normally be because the track-spec version of the bike does not need them. In keeping with its track-spec design, the bike lacks a headlight and turn indicators. The bike gets a special mirror finish paint scheme as well as track-spec slick tyres.

Kawasaki Ninja H2R Engine and Gearbox

A 998cc liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder supercharged engine powers the new Kawasaki Ninja H2R. The engine produces a max power of 310 HP at 14000 rpm and 165 Nm of peak torque at 12500 rpm. With a RAM Air intake, the power can be increased to 326 HP at 14000 rpm. The massive engine is backed up by a slipper and assist clutch, and a quick shifter as standard. The bike comes with a full suite of rider aids, including cornering ABS supported by Bosch-IMU. The high-performance motorcycle runs on fuel with a least RON rating of 95.

Kawasaki Ninja H2R Suspension, Brakes and Tyres

2023 Kawasaki Ninja H2R comes with adequate hardware to handle its supercharged high-performance engine. The front forks are 43mm USD, and the rear shock is an Ohlins TTX36 gas-charged mono-shock. Both suspension components are fully adjustable. And an Ohlins electronic steering damper supports the front forks. Twin 330mm discs with Brembo M50 Monobloc callipers on the front provide stopping power. A single 250mm disc and a two-piston Brembo calliper are fitted to the rear.

Key Features of Kawasaki Ninja H2R

The track-specific Kawasaki Ninja H2R comes with many track-ready and track-safe features. Riders can get away with minor mistakes thanks to the highly detailed six-axis IMU-supported rider aid suite. The motorcycle includes the Kawasaki Cornering Management Function which allows the rider to set max banking details and track the motorcycle's banking angle. Traction control, wheelie control, slide control, launch control, engine brake control, and cornering ABS are among the other cutting-edge features. The bike's paint scheme receives a special Mirror coating, which allows minor scratches on the bike's surface to heal.

Kawasaki Ninja H2R Top Speed and Mileage

The mileage of the new Kawasaki Ninja H2R is 10-12 km/l (approximate). The 1000cc hyperbike can speed up from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 3.07 seconds. The top speed of the Kawasaki Ninja H2R is 400 km/h, as measured on a closed road.

Kawasaki Ninja H2R Competitors

BMW HP4 Race, Ducati Superleggera V4, Honda CBR1000RR-R SP, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR, Suzuki GSX-R1000R, and Yamaha YZF-R1M are some similar bikes.

Ducati Superleggera V4

A total of 500 units will be produced worldwide, with the majority of them destined for racetracks. Though they can technically be ridden on the road as well. The Superleggera is the first of a new breed of extreme hyper-sport motorcycles that have left no carbon fibre sheet behind in their quest to reduce kerb weight by grammes. Power is 212bhp, which is WSBK-level, and there are enough electronics to compete with Deep Blue. The promotional video is a montage of tyre-shredding violence on a racetrack. Superleggera leaned over and sideways for half of the segment, only to hoick the front wheel on the exit of the corner.

If you have the skill to take advantage of everything the 1299 Superleggera has to offer on a racetrack. With arms to hold on to dear life, or simply pockets deeper than the Mariana Trench, this is the motorcycle for you. If all 500 units are sold, the Germans now have an HP4 race that you might be interested in.

Honda CBR1000RR-R

The new CBR1000RR-R is Honda's most powerful motorcycle to hit the Indian market. Honda offers the CBR1000RR-R in two variants: Standard and Special. The new CBR1000RR-R receives a complete redesign and appears much sharper than before. It has an all-new LED headlight and taillight, as well as aerodynamic winglets and a full-colour TFT screen. The CBR1000RR-R is powered by a 999.9cc BS6-compliant inline-four engine that produces 217.5PS at 14,500rpm and 113Nm of torque at 12,500rpm.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR

Kawasaki has released the 2018 model of the ZX-10RR. It primarily changes the bike's appearance with two minor colour changes. The modifications are to the lower and upper portions of the front forks. The mechanicals and engine of the bike have remained unchanged. The reservoir canisters located behind the lower portion of the front fork legs have been repainted silver. While the fork top cap at the top of the fork leg has been changed from red to green on the 2018 Kawasaki ZX-10RR.

The Kawasaki ZX-10RR is propelled by a 998cc, four-stroke, liquid-cooled, in-line three-engine. It produces 197 bhp at 13,000 rpm and 113.5 Nm of peak torque at 11,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed cassette transmission with a quick-shifter. Kawasaki ZX-10RR is based on the standard ZX-10R, but with a more focused track-spec riding experience. The engine in the RR has been upgraded with carbon-coated tappets, a stronger crankcase, high-lift cams, and a modified cylinder head.

Conclusion

2023 Kawasaki Ninja H2R is a track-focused bike, not a street bike. As a result, it will be extremely valuable to those who are interested in the best that performance biking has to offer. At this price, it is intended for true connoisseurs and includes all the bells and whistles that one would expect at this price point.

The new Kawasaki Ninja H2R stands out as a dream bike for those looking for blistering performance and superior track dynamics. This is a bike for serious track riders and performance enthusiasts, not the average superbike buyer. On that front, it outperforms its price by providing superior features, electronics, a stylish design, and unrivalled performance above all else.

The Kawasaki Ninja H2R is a powerful and awe-inspiring bike that definitely looks the part. With a supercharged engine in its heart, it can provide a thrilling experience on both the highway and race track. Its raw power and speed make it an exhilarating ride and its sound is simply heavenly. However, due to its immense power and heat generation, it is not suitable for city driving. It is a race track bike and should be driven at high speeds to get the best out of it. Ultimately, the Kawasaki Ninja H2R is a dream bike to own and it certainly lives up to its promise.

The H2 and the H2R are the pinnacle of motorcycle engineering and design. They are truly a work of art and are masterfully crafted with the finest materials.

The attention to detail is remarkable and the performance is unparalleled. I absolutely adore the look and feel of these machines and I would love to own one. Unfortunately, the price tag is a bit too high for me to justify at this time, but I am sure that there are plenty of other people out there who can appreciate these beauties.

I'm always impressed by the power of modern bikes. With the way technology has advanced, it's no surprise that the power and torque of these motorcycles has increased drastically over the years. The MV Agusta 312R F4 is a perfect example of this, with its 186 hp and 86 foot-pound of torque. It's amazing to think that this bike is several years old and yet it still has such impressive power.

I'm even more impressed by the bikes that are racing now and will be available to the public in the next couple of years. They have even more power and torque, pushing the boundaries of what we thought was possible.

It's truly remarkable and a testament to how far technology has come in the motorcycling industry.
